In this performance as part of the exhibition ‘Background Noise’ , a series of 6 colours were painted on each of the gallery’s front windows. They were sprayed with a jet of water each time someone wearing the corresponding colour walked past the gallery window ergo for bikes and cars. Luckily it was the start of spring in Strasbourg, the sun was shining and people were feeling bold with their colourful outfits. The work continues the spirit of the series ‘Prompts’ which uses disparate things taking place in the subconscious and abstract background to control the rhythm and outcome of the surface. This phenomenon happens around us and inside us all the time. The problem is when things turn abstract at an artificially accelerated rate.
