ISLAMIC DRESS
We collaborated with Dr Anastasia Vakulenko, a leading expert on women rights and intersectionality to create a vision for the issues she was working on around the Islamic dress controversy. In a bid to appease anti-muslim sentiment, many western European states were passing laws banning muslim women from wearing cultural clothing garments in public spaces.
We created a five meter tall sculpture which was installed for the launch of London's Nour festival of Islamic culture as well as featuring in other exhibitions in London, Rome and New York galleries. The artwork was also officially selected for Aesthetica Magazine's art prize.
A digital edition was published for a book jacket cover by Routledge.
